Community Groups

The purpose of Central's Community Groups is to provide an opportunity for people of different backgrounds and life stages to build relationships, to study the Scriptures, to pray with and for one another, to use their unique gifts to serve the city, and ultimately to experience the transforming power of the gospel.

JOIN A COMMUNITY GROUP

Our Community Groups serve as the nervous system of the church. In them, the gospel is used to motivate people towards a richer relationship with God. In them, the gospel is used as a balm to apply to the wounds we incur in life. In them, the gospel is used to call and motivate people into the service of God's kingdom. In response to God's grace, people are urged to develop lives of moral beauty, integrity, and other-centeredness and to discover and use their gifts to carry out ministry both within the congregation and to the world.

  • What’s the difference between a Bible study and a Community Group?

Bible studies are chances to dive into specific books of the Bible. These large group teachings typically meet for around 12 weeks with different studies offered throughout the year. • When and where do Community Groups meet?

Most groups meet on a weekly basis for approximately 90 minutes in apartments across the city.

  • What happens in a Community Group?

Most meetings start with a brief time of socializing followed by a discussion centered around the sermon from the previous Sunday. Central provides study guides each week to help structure the group’s time together. The meeting typically ends with a time of prayer.
