CENTRAL NEWS & UPDATES
Last Sunday
The famed Song of Songs is meant to be read as the greatest of all love songs, unsurpassed in its subject, artistry, and depth of meaning. Amidst a culture deeply confused about love and the human body, our five-week winter series will explore Scripture’s beautiful, life-giving vision of embodied humanity through the greatest song ever written. This past Sunday Jason Harris kicked off our new series The Song of Songs with a sermon titled "A Theology of the Body."
Jesus Reconsidered
Christianity somewhat conveniently offers an unbelievable narrative that, if true, literally changes everything. Which raises the question: Is it possible that Christianity is simply wishful thinking — a framework generated by humans who were (and still are) looking to place their hope in a future that’s better than their reality? Check out the most recent video in our Jesus Reconsidered series, and email us your questions at seniorpastor@centralchurchnyc.org!
School of Discipleship
In addition to gathering weekly for Sunday worship, we encourage all in our church family to participate in our Wednesday evening School of Discipleship offerings throughout the ministry year. This Wednesday night program helps us mature in our faith and better equips us for God's mission to the city. Check out the events we have coming up!
Central Chamber Series
Join us on Wednesday, January 14 at 7:30 p.m. in the sanctuary for our second Central Chamber Series concert of the season, "Baroque Festival." Purchase tickets at centralchamberseries.com.
Vision Night
We're looking forward to our third annual Vision Night at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 21, which will include a time of worship and prayer as well as reflection on where we have come from, where we are now, and where we are headed together as Central Church. We hope you can join us for this very special evening.
"The Letter of Paul to the Philippians"
This four-week course (dates spread across January through March) with Princeton Theological Seminary Professor Matthew Novenson will examine Paul’s short but theologically profound letter to the Philippians. Following some introductory discussion of the life and letters of Paul, we will read closely one chapter of the letter in each of our four sessions and discuss key themes.

Our Mission
Central is committed to building a strong community of faith in Jesus Christ that enables people from diverse backgrounds to experience the transformative power of the gospel through insightful biblical teaching, expressive worship, authentic prayer, and meaningful relationships. At the same time, we aim to provide a setting in which people who are undecided about their religious commitments may freely investigate the claims of Christianity. Together, we strive to serve the people of New York in humility and love so that we might have a positive impact on the world around us.
