Paul's second letter to the Corinthians is without a doubt the most personal, painful, and passionate of all his letters. Through it, the Apostle reveals his central theme: God's power is made perfect in human weakness. In this letter, Paul provides us with the model for authentic Christian ministry. This past Sunday Rev. Dr. Jay Harvey (10 and 11:30 a.m.) and Robert Cone (5 p.m.) continued our fall series Power in Weakness with a sermon titled "Prepared by God for Something Greater."
Christianity somewhat conveniently offers an unbelievable narrative that, if true, literally changes everything. Which raises the question: Is it possible that Christianity is simply wishful thinking — a framework generated by humans who were (and still are) looking to place their hope in a future that’s better than their reality? Check out the most recent video in our Jesus Reconsidered series, and email us your questions at seniorpastor@centralchurchnyc.org!
In addition to gathering weekly for Sunday worship, we encourage all in our church family to participate in our Wednesday evening School of Discipleship offerings throughout the ministry year. This Wednesday night program helps us mature in our faith and better equips us for God's mission to the city. Check out the events we have coming up!
