This glossary explains terms used in the content and navigation of Central Presbyterian Church's website.
- Sermon
- A message delivered during worship that explains a passage from the Bible and considers its meaning for life. Browse the sermon collection.
- Series
- A group of related sermons or study guides organized around a shared theme or part of the Bible.
- Passage
- A selected portion of the Bible. References identify a book, chapter, and verse or range of verses; for example, John 3:16 refers to the Gospel of John, chapter 3, verse 16.
- Study guide
- Material with questions and discussion prompts to help individuals or groups explore a biblical passage or teaching. Browse the study guides.
- Lecture
- A teaching presentation on a topic. The lecture collection is separate from the sermon collection.
- Resource
- Supporting material for learning and reflection, such as an article or video. The resources collection can be searched by category and topic.
- Testimony
- A personal account of someone's experience of faith and church life.
- Lenten reflection
- A reading or meditation for Lent, the season of preparation leading up to Easter.
- Transcript
- A written version of spoken content, such as a sermon.
- Topic
- A subject label used to group related content in search results. A topic can appear across several series or types of content.
